CHRISTINA FEDYK

Christina Fedyk is afine artist based in Brighton, UK. She makes paintings, prints and 3D work.

The work is mostly abstract with figurative elements. Many of the shapes and lines are born out of drawings of figures and everyday objects broken down and transformed into something new. The making process is where the ideas are generated through a lot of building up, dismantling, movingthings around and re working.

‘Making a painting is like piecing together agiant jig-saw with no picture to refer to...I know it’s there..it just needs coaxing out.’

At some point the arrangement of shapes, gestures marks and colour begin to take hold and convey their own sense of mood, intrigue or sensation.
