KARINA SMAGULOVA

Karina was born and raised in Greece. After studying architecture, she moved to London where she started focusing on clay as a material.

Having always been in the creative field, she feels that her involvement with ceramics only changed the scale in which she now works.

“Women” came to life during an exploration of the material's ability to stretch and deform. Using the coiling method, she balances the curved forms in the three dimensional world in order to create sculptures that embrace the idiosyncrasies of the female body.
